Life is what you make it… | 10/26/2011

Here it is October.  October is one of the coolest months.  It always goes by so fast with the temps being perfect, the fall festivals, fairs, leaves changing, Halloween, etc.  Get out there and enjoy it people because it is almost over!

So, I’m sure some of you have been wondering where I have been.  Well, the answer is simple I was at the pool –  splish splashing around and enjoying soaking up the sun!  I have decided someone needs to make a water proof laptop so I can continue to blog during my favorite season.  Until then, you may see a drop off during that time.

What else has been going on you ask?  Well, I have finally come out of denial.  I was in denial about how much not getting the business I tried to buy earlier in the year affected me.  Good news is I have a new business idea now (a ray of sunshine and hope for the dark dismal winter)! I am forging ahead too! I met with 3 commercial realtors on Monday to look at spaces available.  I liked 2 out of the 3.  Now if I can just get them to come down on the rent.  If anyone has any suggestions, then please comment below.  Thanks guys and dolls!  Have a blessed day!!! 😀

  1. As we discussed yesterday, check out the Target area on New Garden. Some good spaces available near the Starbucks and Fresh Market, high traffic areas. A couple other spots down near Wings & Rings, Rack Room Shoes and Michaels is just a couple doors down…

    • The Michaels store has the Target shopping center on lock down. They have regulations in their lease that would prevent certain types of art in my store. Therefore, I will not be opening it there. Back to the drawing board…. and trying to negotiate with the Brassfield shopping center and the Big Lots shopping center. Pray for me! 🙂

      • So the owners sold their soul to Michael’s in order to get them in. All at the expense of the small business owner. I guess they rather have a dozen or so empty storefronts…

      • Yes I think I have finally figured out that all matters of business involve a little bit of soul selling. LOL! Their loss!

  2. There are several ways to approach this rent thing. First, how long has the property been on the market. Remember for every month that the unit goes unrented, there is another months rent gone.

Secondly, most of these guys are paid on commission. Why not try and contact the owner direct.

Lastly, Never, Never, Never, Never, Never, Never, Never,Never, deal with Kotis Property. You will regret it.

    • Thank you! Yes that Kotis guy was my least favorite. He was a bit of a prick and to be that young I thought it was bizarre.
